Howdy, friend.
We’ve officially made it to the 2nd week of January, and it feels like it’s already been a lot.
Check out this link if you want and are able to help those affected by the L.A. wildfires.
If you read last week’s post, I talked about my intentions I set for 2024 and reflected back on the year to see how those panned out. This week, I wanted to reflect back on what I actually accomplished. And yet, another trend from tiktok, people were posting how they were being hard on themselves, feeling like they hadn’t accomplished anything this year. But in reality, after looking back on their year, they had done a lot.
So since I felt similarly (because I swear 2024 tried me in so many ways), I decided to look back, and I actually accomplished more than I thought. Here are a few of mine, in no particular order:
moved! - into a house (and out of the apartment that saw 6.5 years of my time in Oregon)
visited Canada for the 1st time (& took a v chilly dip while I was there)
saw the Northern Lights !!! (bucket list item)
grew & nurtured friendships
attended my 1st concert solo! (& so many others w/friends)
guided my soul dog over the rainbow bridge <3
completed a (successful) egg retrieval
put myself back out in the dating scene (although reluctantly, and taking a break from atm)
got back into yoga and have been consistently going every week since August
(finally) asked for help, with medication, for my mental health (bc losing tank was the cherry on top of a very tough year)
Although this year was probably one of my hardest years yet, I’m glad I can look back and be happy and proud of the moments in-between all the tough ones.
Not to be dramatic, but the bar is low for 2025. And I’m looking forward to and hopeful for what this next year brings. Feel free to share anything you accomplished in 2024 (big or small - it’s all big in my books) and anything you’re looking forward to in the coming year!
Until next time…
Much love,
D
